1928  McMurray held its place through being the point at which the scow brigade transshipped cargo to the river steamer.
1932  (1967)  The present story is of a journey down the Athabaska in [1914] the last year in which the scow brigades carried northward to Lake Athabaska the season's freight for Chipewyan and the Slave and Mackenzie river posts.
1952  The last of the scow brigades was that which ran from Pagwa down the Pagwachuan River, to the Kenogami, and so into the Albany and down to James Bay.
